 As
President of Strategic Development Group, Inc., Mark L. Williams directs
all aspects of client services. Mr. Williams is a Certified Economic
Developer with a unique and wide-ranging combination of private sector
and government site location and economic development experience.
During his extensive 15-year career, Mr. Williams has worked with
hundreds of US-based and global corporation executives to find facility
locations and negotiate location incentives for over $5 Billion in
US investments.
Mr. Williams has worked extensively with many state and local development
agencies in the preparation of community assessments and strategic
plans, and served as the Chief Development Officer for a state-recruiting
agency.
Mr. Williams is nationally recognized as an expert economic developer.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in mathematics
and civil engineering and an MBA degree. He is a graduate of the
University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute. He has earned
the professional designations of Certified Economic Developer (CED)
and Certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) and
has chaired the American Economic Development Council’s Certification
Board, which certifies professional economic developers in the United
States and Canada. He is the past president of the South Carolina
Economic Developers Association Board.
Mr. Williams was also awarded the Order of the Palmetto, the highest
honor that can be given to a South Carolina citizen, by the Governor
of South Carolina for his success in industrial development during
the 1990’s.
